DJI felt like they could do even better - and they have - with the Ronin 2 Professional.  Every element of the Ronin 2 Professional has been re-designed with the filmmaker in mind: to maximize reliability and efficiency in any film environment. By removing hardware and technical challenges from a filmset, the Ronin 2 Professional is ready to help any filmmaker. 

DJI took the Ronin back to the drawing board, with a few key factors in mind: cross compatibility with other stabilization systems, the capacity to fully power a RED camera, refined set-up and balancing, larger payloads for more ambitious camera configurations and even intelligent features. You are now fully able to realize your creative vision. Story telling is a medium that endures and the flexibility and power of the Ronin 2 Professional ensures that every filmmaker's legacy is preserved forever.

Cross-compatibility

For the Ronin 2 Professional, it was essential to make it to be cross compatible, to be mounted to a car and still be hand-held for smooth cinematic shoots with minimal set up. Everything has been refined for maximum efficiency. The Ronin 2 has been re-engineered from the ground up, to be compatible with a wide varierty of camera payloads.

Lightweight and Resilient

The carbon fiber built provides the highest quality in a hand-held camera stabilization set-up. It makes the Ronin 2 lightweight, strong and functional. The Ronin 2 Professional is fully customizable, thanks to its extendable arms. They allow larger camera bodies and lenses.

The integrated locks on all 3 axis provide easier balancing, tuning and transportation. The new 2 axis-lock means more options for mobility and camera control. With the new Ronin 2 grip, the entire set-up can be safely and quickly set down with foldable feet. Integrated adjustments allow for quick finetuning adjustments, while the quick-release mount makes transferring from handheld to vehicle mode easy. A faster set-ups mean less down time.

Powerful higher roque motors allow the mobility of larger payloads without sacrificing speed. The motors are so strong, that they do not have to be retuned during a shoot. The stabilization will stay rock solid. 

Speed and hot-swappable batteries

The Ronin 2 Professional can move at speeds up to 120 km/h (75 mph) and maximum 13 kg (30 lbs) payload, all while resisting high winds. To facilitatie these powerful features, the Ronin 2 Professional is powered by dual batteries. These TB50 batteries are hot swappable, which means that while the batteries are being changed, the Camera and Ronin 2 will keep recording. This allows you to have continuous up time. The camera can also be powered by the Ronin 2 batteries, to provide a more seamless experience between the Ronin 2, the camera and all of its accessories. 

Integrated Ultra-Bright Screen and a New Intuitive Controller

The integrated ultra-bright touchscreen allows for on the fly software and settings adjustments, including the intelligent features. You can even make adjustments to the RED camera. Also, a new handheld controller has been designed to remote control the gimbal. The gimbal assistance app has been completely overhauled, making it more intuitive and allows you to have full control of the Ronin 2 Professional.

GPS and intelligent features

A new built-in GPS module allows for better performance during high-speed shooting. Smooth-track has been updated for even better performance and intelligent features, like timelapse and panaroma are fully supported.

• Panorama: the Ronin 2 motor will automatically account for the camera sensor type and create a still image panorama. 
• Timelapse: In timelapse mode you can program multiple movements and camera actions at different points along a route, and view your progress in real time.
• CamAnchor: this new mode allows filmmakers to quickly record a preferred gimbal orientation at particular chosen location, then revisit them with a simple touch on the touchscreen, as the camera moves from point to point.

New Accessory

With the release of the Ronin 2 Professional, DJI has also included a new Ronin power hub, and other essential accessories such as DJI Focus and wireless video transmission systems.

What is the difference between the Ronin and the Ronin 2 Professional?

Like the Ronin, The Ronin 2 is designed for handheld camera applications. Moreover, the Ronin 2 Professional is now a more versatile camera stabilizer than the regular Ronin. It now also has aerial, car mounting, cablecam and Steadicam capabilities. The new higher torque motors allow the Ronin 2 to endure a larger payload and comes with new GPS algorithms, which allow the Ronin 2 progessional to perform smoothly in high-stress environments. Along with many other improvements, the DJI Ronin 2 takes camera stabilization to a whole new level.
